Fabulous Favors

altLast year my colleagues and I got together and bought our boss a "goat" as a holiday gift from a website called Oxfam.  She didn't really get a goat.  Rather, we purchased one from the website that would be donated to a less fortunate family in Africa.  The goats provide families with much needed milk and fertilizer which they can use to provide nourishment to the household or sell for income.

Recently I was made aware that Oxfam has a great program for event favors.  For a mere $130.00 you can purchase a pack of 50 beautiful die cut cards, each presenting a meaningful donation to a family in need. Each purchase contains a host of life changing gifts such as vaccinations, education, doctor's visits, drinkable water, soap and more.

Give a gift that keeps on giving and shows what  you value as a couple.  Not to mention the great conversation that will arise once your guests pick these up!

altSeriously.  Could a wedding favor get any cuter than this?  Well probobally not yummier anyway.  Check out these totally awesome hot chocolate spoons aka "hotchocspoons" from Chocolate Company out of the Netherlands.  With unique flavors ranging from Strawberry and Pink Pepper to Brownie to Amaretto and Macaroons you will certainly find something for every guest.  Not to mention the spoons with liquor!  The company proclaims that these treats are the World's Best Hot Chocolate on a Spoon.  Starting at 20 spoons for 50 Euro (apx 65.00 USD) these tasty spoons are priced right to use as favors or to put out as a fun addition to an after dinner coffee bar!

Fortune Favors

altIt seems like there are about a million options for wedding favors these days.  From thoughtful to flavorful they each say a little bit about the bride and groom and help to dress up the tables.  We however wont have tables. The reality is that favors, while fun are not a necessity by any means.  They are something that we might do with a few leftover dollars from our wedding budget.  I am not interested in candles, golf balls or those little mini maple syrups that appear at every Vermont wedding.  I would prefer something personal and interesting.

Check out these custom made Cootie Catchers from Katskrafts on Etsy.  These inexpensive favors are sure to attract some attention and at just $73.75 for 100 pieces they wont break the budget!  The Cootie Catchers or "Fortune Tellers:" as the designer explains are all custom designed to match your colors fonts and theme.  Each design includes your own custom questions and answers.  What a cute idea!!
