Quick Kits
If this week is all about being prepared, then this post should be particularly helpful. Check out these kits for every occasion from Quick Kits, a on-line store run by Karen St. Claire of Milford, Connecticut.
Her reception amenity kit (offered with 29 essential items for $65.00) features a host of treasures wrapped up in a beautiful hand painted white wooden basket... adorable! Often a handy MOB or MOG might like to put these together, but if you don't have anyone stepping up to the plate and could use a hand then just buy a couple of these and pop one into each bathroom at the reception venue.
You may be wondering to yourself... is this really necessary or important? Well in my opinion, yes. Every wedding that I have attended (with the exception of one with outhouses) all had similar baskets available. Each with it's own treasures inside. I personally think that they come in quite handy. You never know when you may need to sew a strap, spray your hair or suck on an altoid. As an experienced wedding goer, I can tell you that I always pack a purse separate from my usual and often forget necessary essentials such as lip-gloss or hair spray. Providing these things to your guests can provide a great comfort to them, and will help to ensure that each person has a great time.
Quick Kits also offers an array of specialized kits for everyone from the MOB to your golfing guys. I especially love the flower girl and ring bearer activity kits complete with goldfish and bubbles! All of the kits are packaged in super cute boxes and can be customized with ribbon and stickers to match your event theme.
Whether you are making these yourself or taking advantage of a pre-packaged product like those offered by Quick Kits, these handy little kits sure can come in handy!
Umbrella Rentals

Planning a great wedding is all about having fun and pampering your guests. Even though we don't like to think about it, weather will often play some factor in your event. We all hope that it won't rain or be scorching hot on our big day. But, "better safe than sorry"... I always say.
I have seen my fare share of weddings set to happen during a perfect forecast day, when for whatever reason rain strikes at the most inopportune time. If you are expecting your guests to spend any amount of time outside, you not only have to consider rain, but also sun and heat. Often weddings occur during summer months when sunburns and heat stroke can rapidly overcome people.
What if your guests forget or don't think to carry umbrellas? If you have transported them to a venue in a private shuttle, away from their hotel they may not be able to produce a much needed umbrella in a hurry. If you want to cover all of your bases then plan ahead and make a few umbrellas available just in case!
Now you could peruse the selection at Old Navy or Target. I am sure you could find something matching your decor that will protect your guests at a great price. But!, if you want to add a little glamor to your wedding day, rent a few of these gorgeous vintage umbrellas from Bella Umbrella!
Whether you are looking for some fun umbrellas as props for your vintage themed photos, or protection for your guests from the elements, they have something for every theme. I just love the retro look of this tone on tone yellow umbrella, (pictured) ideal for a fall wedding. Check out this fairy tale pagoda umbrella with pink beading or this vintage floral umbrella with a gold hook handle.
Ranging from10.00 for solids to 20.00 for the more fancy offerings, they are a a bit of a splurge. But if weather does affect your day, I am sure these great umbrellas will add a bit of lightheartedness to the situation. Not to mention the cool photographs that would result!
Rustic Table Top

Rustic elegance is all the rage these days. Many brides are looking for unique and interesting decor that can be re-purposed after the wedding. What spend thousands on decor that will hit the trash when the festivities are over? Wouldn't it be cool to look at your book shelf or coffee table years later and see a reminder of that special day?
Even if you decide not to keep them, but rather share them with guests, I have a feeling that these little gems will be re-purposed in their homes. Check out these super cute and totally unique lantern votive candle holders from Nkuku. Buy small holders for £6.95 (apx. $8.50) and large for £14.95(apx. $18.00).
The on-line shop has two offices, one in the UK and another in Georgia, USA. They specialize in "stylish, eco-friendly, fair trade gifts". They have all sorts of cute little votives that would really dress up any modern wedding design. Not to mention the gorgeous array of eco-friendly gifts for the bride and groom like these beautiful mango wood bowls and gorgeous lambswool blankets!
